Describe your dream job: My dream job is one where I am valued for what I bring to the table and what I am capable of producing when given a task and autonomy; a job where I am trusted with every aspect and asked to produce a high quality product.
What did you enjoy most about majoring in a business-related field? I enjoyed being pushed to work in groups and think big picture through case studies that were directly related to an event occurring in the business world. Having the opportunity to be an advisor to businesses in case studies, analyzing whether or not a company should execute a merger or take on a project, or even listening to people in the finance industry talk about how they dealt with the financial crisis and why it happened were all extremely important and enjoyable parts of my business education. I also enjoyed being around people with other business majors who contributed different thoughts and ideas to our case studies or class discussions. Their perspectives helped shape my views and broadened my perspective of what a successful and efficient business looks like.
Where would you like to work after graduation? Ernst & Young LLP FSO Advisory – Business Advisor Program
What are your long-term professional goals? I would like to see myself at an executive level of an organization (possibly my own), where I am able to focus on creating value for that firm while focusing my attention on its recruitment pipeline and efforts to make the firm as diverse as possible. Also, I would like to start a non-profit organization (similar to the Gates Millennium Foundation and Management Leadership for Tomorrow) dedicated to providing scholarships for students while helping them navigate college and finding a career so that they can become business leaders and continue the pipeline for students to follow. Finally, another goal is to create financial literacy workshops that I can take to Sudan (my parents’ birth country) and other countries where I will educate adults about money management.

What was the happiest moment of your life? The happiest moment of my life was when I found out that I had received the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Gates Millennium Scholarship, which guaranteed that whatever institution I was accepted to and chose to attend, I would not have to worry about paying for it.
Which academic or personal achievement are you most proud of? After graduation this spring, I will be the first in my family to attend college. This is an achievement that will set a new standard for my family and one that I will be tremendously proud of. Right after graduation, I will also be proud of myself for accepting a full time offer at Ernst & Young in New York City. It has been a life-long dream of mine to live in New York City and work for an organization which I love.
What animal would you choose to represent your professional brand? A lion because it represents my ability to care and provide for my family while maintaining patience and remaining focused on the goals ahead of me. A lion is more than a ferocious animal. It is a protector, a provider, and an animal that exudes confidence and leadership for those around it.
Who would you most want to thank for your success? I thank my mother for her sacrifice and for her constant prayer. Without her guidance and her dedication to my well-being and success, I can honestly say that I would be lost. She and my father have truly given up everything when they moved to the U.S. to provide my brothers and I with an opportunity for a better education.
Fun fact about yourself: I love to take pictures and am teaching myself about photography.
