What company do you admire the most? I admire Patagonia’s commitment to sustainability. Their recycled materials and donations to conservation efforts set a commendable precedent for Corporate Social Responsibility.

Who is your favorite professor? My favorite Professor is Dr. James Brennan in the Management department. He is truly a professor who gives his students all of the tools that they need to succeed and encourages us every day to both take time for ourselves and open our eyes to learning.

What did you enjoy most about your business school? I enjoyed the diverse and challenging core curriculum that exposes students to a complete picture of the business world and piques our intellectual curiosity.

What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? The biggest lesson that I gained from studying business is how critical interpersonal relationships are. Businesses are tons of gears that move together and we must learn how to work cross-functionally to be aligned with and achieve business goals.

What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? Try to read up on current events in different fields related to business!  While you may be the expert in your own major, all businesses are rooted in many moving parts where it is crucial to have some sort of understanding of other departments.

What has surprised you most about majoring in business? I was most surprised by how different operations are from company-to-company. In my internship experience and in-class case studies, I learned a lot about how corporate structure trickles down and impacts an entire business.

Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? I am most proud of my involvement as a TRAC Fellow on campus. I am a peer writing mentor assigned to a class each semester helping students through the writing process. It is so rewarding being able to make writing even a little bit less scary for some students!  I am fortunate enough to have such a great opportunity where I can learn from my peers in this environment as well because the best way to learn about writing is by reading other peoples’ work!

Which classmate do you most admire? My classmate Morgan Schurr, also a Supply Chain Management Major, has taught me to be fearless in asking questions and always takes a deeper dive into any concept that we’re learning in class.

Who would you most want to thank for your success? I would most like to thank my father for my success academically. He had always encouraged me to reach beyond what I believed to be my own potential and satisfy my curiosity by trying new things and being involved with the campus community.

What are the top two items on your professional bucket list? The top two items on my professional bucket list are to obtain a graduate degree – likely in management – and to grow with Pratt & Whitney through the development program!

What are your hobbies? My hobbies are reading and writing, exercising, and cooking!  You can always find a fresh meal at my house!
