The final equally weighted category is career outcomes. Like admissions, Wharton took the top spot in this category. Wharton was followed by Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, Washington University in St. Louis, and Cornell, respectively. The first category, given a 20% weight, is the percentage of 2020 graduates that had a business-specific internship prior to graduation. Four schools — Washington University, Marian University, Syracuse University, and Rochester Institute of Technology — all reported 100% of their 2020 graduates having at least one business-specific internship prior to graduation.
Given a 50% weight is the percentage of 2020 graduates earning full-time employment that were seeking employment. Two schools reported a perfect 100% in this category as well — Marian and the University of Richmond. And, lastly, given a 30% weight is the adjusted starting salary reported by 2020 graduates. Wharton led this category with $94,895. Wharton was followed by Georgetown’s $91,142. The adjusted salary considers the average starting salary reported by the schools, the average signing bonus, and the percentage of graduates reporting a signing bonus.
