What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? The biggest lesson I have learned is that the business landscape is always changing, which is evident as I have followed current events from my freshman to senior year. Being cognizant of changing market trends and technology is necessary for business success.

What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? Do not be afraid to reach out to professionals that have a job you are interested in. Networking allows you to get an insight into the day-to-day roles of many positions within business, which helps determine if you would like the role. Especially with the strong alumni network of Michigan State, Spartans are always willing to help each other out.

What has surprised you most about majoring in business? I was surprised about all the career options available to students after studying business. A business degree truly opens many doors, allowing students to chase their dreams, regardless of their interests.

Looking back over your experience, what is the one thing you’d do differently in business school and why? One thing I would do differently is become involved with some of the consulting organizations within Broad. The organizations provide a great learning opportunity with companies in many different industries, which became appealing to me later in my college career.

What business executive do you admire most? I admire Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase. In interviews and his annual shareholder letter, Mr. Dimon is always very candid in his answers, providing great insight into his view of the economy. His tenure at one of the largest financial institutions in the world also speaks to his ability as a CEO.

Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? I am most proud of being elected president of my professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi. It was an honor to lead an organization that has given me so much. The experience helped me grow as a leader as I faced unique challenges daily. While I made plenty of mistakes in this position, I believe they will make me a better business professional.

Which classmate do you most admire? The classmate I most admire is Matthew Ladouceur. He is an exceptionally smart student with high moral character who motivates me to work harder and try to be a better person. After living with him the past four years, the impact he has had on me cannot be overstated. Shoutout, Matty Ice.

Who would you most want to thank for your success? I would like to thank finance professor Helen Dashney for my success. Whether I need career advice, or just a quick pep talk, she is always willing to help and be a sounding board. Her ability to take a vested interest in the future of so many students is second to none. Helen has been a big advocate for me during my time at Michigan State.

What are the top two items on your professional bucket list?

• Start my own business one day
• Work in another country

What are your hobbies? I love to golf, travel the country following Michigan State football and basketball, and play pond hockey in the winter.
