SCHOOLS WITH THE HIGHEST EMPLOYMENT RATES
Gainful employment is a big motivator for getting a business degree, and graduates from many schools can expect to have a job offer within 90 days of walking the stage.
Every graduate from University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business and Marian University of Indianapolis Byrum School of Business who were seeking jobs after graduation found them in 2021. No schools reported 100% employment in last year’s ranking.
Three more schools reported employment rates of 99%: Rutgers Business School-New Brunswick, Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, and University of Miami’s Herbert Business School.
Again, no schools reported 99% employment in 2020. The highest that year was Hult International Business School with 98.53%. (This year, Hult reported 96.23% employment which was 28th out of 95 ranked schools.)
The school with the lowest employment rate for recent graduates in 2021 was Northern Illinois University with 43.33%, nearly 5 points lower than last year’s rate of 48.42%. Christopher Newport University’s Luter School of Business fell 26 points from 94.41% in 2020 to 68.11% in 2021.
Two schools did not provide data on employment rates: University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Lubar) and University of Akron.
INTERNSHIPS AT RANKED B-SCHOOLS
Securing a summer internship is an important rite of passage for most business school students. Not only do they provide essential real-world experience and resume props, they often lead to full-time job offers for strong candidates. As with all metrics, some schools do better than others at helping students land those summer positions.
The tables below show the schools with the highest and lowest internship rates – the percentage of 2021 graduates that had at least one business-specific internship before graduating.
