Where will you be working after graduation? At Charlie Health (charliehealth.com) as their first Product Manager

What company do you admire most? Charlie Health, the company that I just joined post-grad, has such an important mission. Charlie Health is working on solving the mental illness crisis for adolescents and young adults, and it is so meaningful to work on an important mission every day.

Who is your favorite professor? Esther Chewning is a professor at Northeastern, but is also one of WISE’s advisors. She has been instrumental to both my personal and professional development thus far, and her shining enthusiasm, dedicated support, and authenticity with students has had such a huge impact on me and so many others.

What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? There is so much more to being successful in business outside of the hard skills. Soft skills like leadership, communication, and negotiation can sometimes be even more important.

What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? The biggest advice I’d give is to try as many things outside of the classroom as possible. So much of my growth and experience came from experimenting with different industries and roles, and college is a great time to do that.

Looking back over your experience, what is the one thing you’d do differently in business school and why? I’d do my best to meet more people within my school but also the other colleges. You meet a lot of people through clubs, but I wish I took more time to get to know people with all sorts of different backgrounds.

Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? In the middle of the pandemic, I founded a nonprofit organization called Envision. Envision is an equity free accelerator for young, underrepresented founders. Since our start in June 2020, we’ve accelerated 50 companies and have helped them raise over $20 million in VC funding from investors like YCombinator, Sequoia, Greylock, and many more. Working on Envision has been the highlight of my professional career thus far. I have been challenged in so many ways – whether it be fundraising hundreds of thousands of dollars yearly to provide our founders with grants, hiring and managing a diverse team remotely, and sourcing and evaluating thousands of companies every year. I’ve also grown so much personally, and have learned so much about my leadership style and the ins and outs of early company building.

Which classmate do you most admire? I most admire Mia Nguyen, my brilliant friend who founded WISE with me. She is incredibly dedicated, very hardworking, and the best partner in crime.

What are the top two items on your professional bucket list? 

What are your hobbies? I love to cook, play guitar, and work with companies at Envision (my nonprofit).
