Texas A&M’s New AI Pitch Competition For Undergraduates Nationwide

Calling all undergraduates! If you have an AI-focused venture ready to tackle real-world challenges, this is your chance to shine. Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School is thrilled to host their new Building a Better Future Through Business and AI pitch competition.

“We believe that AI has the potential to reshape industries, economies, and societies, and that AI will be a critical component of new ventures that develop products and services that can change the world,” shares Mays Business School Dean Nate Sharp.

This brand-new event isn’t just for A&M students – it’s open to undergraduates from universities nationwide and winners will earn some of the largest cash prizes around. First place will walk away with $100,000, $50,000 for second place, and $25,000 for third place.

OPEN TO UNDERGRADUATES NATIONWIDE

This pitch competition resembles MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship Competition. Unlike MIT’s competition, which is open to all levels of higher education, Texas A&M’s competition is dedicated solely to undergraduates.

It was created through a team effort, with the Colleges of Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Architecture, Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Texas A&M Innovation all pitching in. Both Deloitte and the Deloitte Foundation are backing it, with contributions from alumni as well.

“The Texas A&M undergraduate business plan competition presents a unique opportunity to harness new ideas and innovations from the students who will be tomorrow’s AI entrepreneurs and leaders,” says Lou DiLorenzo, principal and US AI & Data Strategy practice leader for Deloitte Consulting.

All who are interested must submit their written business plans to Mays Business School by April 30. After that, twenty-four teams will be selected to present a 10-minute virtual pitch in June, with the top 12 teams advancing to compete at Texas A&M University on September 19-20.
