COMPREHENSIVE CURRICULUM

The Dolan School of Business offers a comprehensive business core curriculum built around Fairfield’s Magis Core and the Dolan Business Core, giving students grounding in critical thinking, oral and written communication, reflective practice, and core business disciplines before they move into their majors. The undergraduate portfolio includes accounting, business analytics, economics, finance, integrated business and engineering, international business, management, marketing, and sports business.

To further enhance employability, the school supports students through the Dolan Career Development Center and a Career Readiness Seminar designed to prepare them for experiential learning and the job search. Business communication is part of the curriculum, and Fairfield says students build skills through group problem solving, casework, and computer simulations.

Students can also tailor the curriculum through management concentrations in business and society, entrepreneurship, hospitality and tourism management, and human resource management, while marketing majors can specialize in marketing communications, digital and social media marketing, or fashion marketing. The integrated business and engineering degree is a STEM-designated collaboration with Fairfield’s School of Engineering and Computing.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

Fairfield Dolan emphasizes experiential learning through internships, immersion programs, corporate visits, and study abroad. The school highlights week-long immersions such as its Silicon Valley Immersion, while Global Fairfield offers 50+ programs across 25+ cities and 25+ countries.

That global reach filters directly into Dolan’s undergraduate experience. Fairfield reports 71 university study abroad opportunities, including 14 business-specific options, and says 37% of students complete a global experience before graduation. School-provided examples include programs tied to the London School of Economics, Florence University of the Arts, Maastricht University, the University of Sydney, and IQS in Barcelona.
