EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING & INNOVATION

The Michael Neidorff School of Business emphasizes experiential learning across all its programs, ensuring students gain practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge. Notably, students in all majors have a 100% participation and pass rate in the NASBA Ethical Leadership Program, underscoring the school’s commitment to ethical business practices.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics program offers a highly experiential curriculum, featuring a capstone consulting course where students collaborate with real company clients. Upper-division courses involve projects like predicting oil and gas demands for Sunoco and consulting for manufacturing companies. Students also achieve a 98% pass rate on the Microsoft Office Specialist exam and a 96% pass rate at the Associate level. Participation in competitions such as the COMAP Mathematical Modeling Competition and the Baylor Data Analytics Competition further enriches their experience.

The school recently transitioned from R to Python in all courses, integrated DataCamp certifications, and introduced an AI ethics and career applications section in BAT 2302.

The Bachelor of Science in Accounting program conducts resume workshops with firms and career services, hosts “Meet the Firms” events featuring all Big Four and other large accounting firms, and organizes mock interviews to enhance students’ professional skills.

Trinity’s CPA exam pass rates have historically been 20% higher than the national average, often ranking in the Top 20 nationally among medium-sized accounting programs. The rigorous undergraduate program, along with the STEM-designated Master of Science in Accounting program, contributes to this success. Classes incorporate lectures from professionals discussing topics within their expertise, and a one-hour professionalism course is taught by a partner from one of the Big Four firms.

The school also offers degrees in Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance, and  International Business.

The Marketing program launched professional development contests, including AMA’s “Campaign in a Day,” and strengthened industry networking through local AMA sponsorships. New electives, like Brand Storytelling & Identity, were added, earning AACSB Innovations that Inspire 2024 recognition. Further, the Finance program fully integrated the Student-Managed Fund (SMF) into the curriculum, introduced a New York City study tour, and added courses in Sustainable Finance, Real Estate, and Advanced Financial Management.

ALUMNI SAY

“All courses had hands-on projects that allowed me to build my portfolio when applying to internships and jobs. Additionally, the senior capstone showcased to professors and businesses all I had learned through the major’s curriculum.”

“One of the many highlights from my business education would have to be the Consulting course. I thought the timing of course was perfect in the degree plan. The class was an accumulation of skills learned from the business analytics & technology courses—from the technical skills such as performing the data analytics process to the soft skills such as writing reports and presenting the results. To have the opportunity to work with actual clients and to be able to present my work to the client was a wonderful experience!”

“The Neidorff School of Business is unique because it allows students the opportunity to earn a degree from an AACSB-accredited business school, all while immersed in a liberal arts institution. Classes are taught by experts in their respective fields whose focus is on advancing undergraduate excellence through research, global scholarship, professional certification, and experiential learning. Graduates emerge with deep knowledge of business fundamentals and practical application of advanced trends, making them highly sought after in their industries.”

“The professors at the Neidorff School of Business at Trinity University are excellent. They bring academic and business experience to the classroom. What the University and Business School lack in name recognition, they make up for in professor accessibility and student resources. A business degree at Trinity does not carry the same “stamp of approval” as a prestigious Ivy, but the school provides a supportive environment that facilitates success.”
