Who is your favorite business professor? My favorite business professor is Associate Dean George Bobinski. When I walked into my first business course, Management 111, I was intimidated because I didn’t know what to expect. However, throughout the course, he continuously provided us with invaluable knowledge and resources to set us up for success both professionally and within the School of Management. Beyond the classroom, he makes a genuine effort to know his students by name and offer guidance whenever needed, demonstrating his dedication to their growth and the business school.
What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? I would say studying business can open up so many doors that you may not realize at first. In order to learn about all of your options, take advantage of every opportunity presented to you.
What is one way that your business school has integrated AI into your programming? What is one insight you gained from using AI? Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being integrated into School of Management coursework, enhancing how students engage with financial concepts and technology. In one of my courses focused on financial technology, we explored two key areas. The first half of the semester covered real world applications of fintech and blockchain, providing insight into how these technologies are shaping financial markets. The second half focused on Python programming and generative AI, where we leveraged ChatGPT to develop code that could calculate swaps, exchange rates, loans, and other financial metrics. The course ended with a final project, where we utilized ChatGPT to create financial data visualizations. Through this course, I gained a strong understanding of how to effectively use ChatGPT by crafting precise prompts and providing clear, detailed requests to optimize the response.
Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? I am most proud of my time as Deputy Director and First Assistant Chief of Harpur’s Ferry Student Volunteer Ambulance Service, where I had the privilege of leading a fully volunteer-run EMS agency of over 75 members. In this role, I helped oversee the 24/7 delivery of free Basic and Advanced Life Support services to Binghamton University students and local residents. My team and I managed a fleet of three ambulances, two fly cars, a UTV, and two treatment trailers, ensuring rapid and effective emergency response. Few organizations provide this level of leadership, crisis management, and hands-on medical experience at such an early stage in college, and I am incredibly grateful for the skills and perspective I have gained through this role.
Which classmate do you most admire? The classmate I admire most is Kayla Buccellato-Singer. From the start of our time at Binghamton, we have worked together and become very close friends. I believe she has made a lasting impact on the School of Management. Early on, she recognized the lack of accessible mentors with marketing experience and took it upon herself to bridge that gap. She expanded her knowledge of marketing and secured internships at Sesame Street, SiriusXM, LiveNation, and Douglas Ellman, never giving up on her goals. Now, incoming students at Binghamton will have her to turn to her for guidance in marketing, as she has achieved so much. Her determination, commitment to student success, and positive attitude make me admire her both as a friend and a classmate.
Who would you most want to thank for your success? I would like to thank my sister, Elissa Bandler, for playing a pivotal role in my success. During my freshman year, I was fortunate to overlap with her for a semester, and her guidance during those formative months set me on the right path. On our drives home and frequent lunches together, she would challenge me with mock interview questions, push back when needed, and put me in touch with people I needed for guidance. As an alumnus of both Binghamton and McKinsey, she has been a constant source of inspiration, motivating me to work hard and pursue my goals with determination. Throughout the demanding recruiting process, she was my greatest supporter, pushing me to stay focused and resilient through every challenge.
What are the top two items on your professional bucket list?
* I aspire to hold a C-suite position at a leading media company, where I can strategically drive initiatives that create a meaningful and lasting impact on people’s lives. My goal is to lead a strong team, drive business growth, and develop innovative strategies that not only enhance profitability but also contribute to a more informed, inspired, and connected society.
* Teaching has always been a passion of mine, whether it’s training new EMTs on the ambulance or mentoring freshmen in finance. My long-term goal is to become an educator, either at the high school level or as a collegiate professor. I find great fulfillment in helping students deepen their understanding of various industries and subjects, and I believe the classroom provides the ideal environment to foster learning and growth.
What made Adam such an invaluable addition to the Class of 2025?
“Adam took my Fixed Income Securities class in the fall of 2024. This course requires a strong foundation in finance, economics, statistics and accounting, and it is arguably the most difficult undergraduate course at the School of Management. While he could have taken an “easy-A” course, Adam embraced the challenge. He pushed himself hard, worked diligently, and, in the end, successfully completed the course. These qualities of Adam demonstrate his strong commitment to learning.
Perhaps more importantly, Adam was a pleasure to have in my class. He attended every session with a positive attitude and a big smile on his face. I interacted with him regularly and was impressed by his integrity, work ethic, and cheerful personality. He is one of those students I will always remember. I am confident that he will be very successful in his professional career.”
