At Wharton, not surprisingly, financial services is the top industry of choice, with approximately half of the Class of 2014 accepting positions in it. The highest paying jobs were all in finance. Undergrads reporting the top base salaries of $100,000 to start were hired by hedge funds, investment banking firms, and investment management outfits.

The most popular subfields within finance included investment banking with 32.6% followed by investment management and private equity with 5.1% each. Other popular industries included consulting which almost 20% of students entered and technology with 9.1%

Goldman Sachs, Citi, Morgan Stanley, BCG, Bain, Credit Suisse and McKinsey were the top employers for the Class of 2014. Goldman hired 21 Wharton grads this past year, while Citi carted away 18 and Morgan Stanley hired 16 undergrads. However students accepted positions with a wide range of of other employers, including Amazon, Macy’s, Entertainment, Dropbox, the FBI, Google, the NFL, Nielsen, Pepsi, and TeachForAmerica.
