Top Schools With The Most Business Owners: Who Leads The Pack?

It’s true that some schools excel in entrepreneurship more than others. Therefore, they graduate more business owners than other schools.

Which schools are leading the pack? The lending firm Clarify Capital just released a ranking of which universities are graduating the most business owners based on LinkedIn data and university records.

According to Clarify Capital, Arizona State University tops the list for the highest number of alumni business owners at 14,680. It’s no wonder the school has held their title of Number 1 in Innovation by the US News and World Report for the past ten years. Innovation and entrepreneurship really go hand-in-hand.

Next comes Southern New Hampshire University in No. 2 place and Pennsylvania State University comes in 3rd, with the school having 10,595 and 9,306 alumni business owners respectively – both schools with strong entrepreneurship programs. SNHU offers their Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Penn State offers their Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minor.

In the Ivy league department, Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business was in the top position with 7,302 alumni who became business owners. They have a catalog of strong entrepreneurship programs and ranked No. 6 in Poets&Quants’ 2024 undergraduate business school rankings this year.

At the back of the pack was North Dakota State who had the least business owner alums at just 177. They likely landed at the back because they are heavily focused on both agriculture and energy, and less on entrepreneurship.
