Were business school faculty available for informal discussions and mentoring when classes were not in session?
It’s one thing to be a superstar professor in the classroom. It’s an entirely other thing to be accessible to your students, to take an active interest in them, even to the point of mentoring them. Those are the kinds of teachers who can have a lifelong impact on students. So which schools do the best job of recruiting and retaining professors who go the extra mile, who are open to giving back when classes are not in session?
At the very top of the list is our overall ranking winner, Washington University’s Olin School of Business. Then, there were a few surprises rounding out the top five, including No. 2 Lehigh University College of Business & Economics, Wake Forest University’s School of Business, the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business, and Texas Christian University’s Neeley School of Business. On our ten-point scale, with ten reflecting the highest possible score, 9.81 topped the list while a score of 8.83 was at the bottom, with an average of 9.34. Those are remarkably high ratings across the board.
