Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business topped this year’s alumni experience category. The single-heaviest weighted category in the entire ranking is the average score schools receive from their alumni based on 16 questions on a ten-point scale (80% weight within the alumni experience category). Not surprisingly, Georgetown earned the highest average with 9.47 across those 16 questions. Wharton followed closely, earning a 9.43 average from its alumni. Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce finished third in the ten-point average category with a 9.26. Texas Christian University, the University of Notre Dame, and Cornell all earned an average of 9.24.

Making up 10% of the alumni experience category is the average of two job-related questions. We asked 2019 alums if the first jobs after graduation were in their desired industries and at one of their desired companies and average those two results. This year, graduates of Christopher Newport University reported the highest average at 93.75%. Georgetown followed with 92.50%. Two other schools — Bucknell University (90.63%) and Wake Forest University (90.00%) — earned 90% or higher in this category.

The remaining 10% in this category is given to the average percentage of alumni reporting they had an international experience and “signature experience” during their time at the B-school. USC’s Marshall School had the highest average percentage of alumni reporting having signature or international experiences at 81.92%. Hult International Business School followed with 76.25% and Worcester Polytechnic Institute rounded out the top three with 75% of its Class of 2019 reporting having a meaningful signature or international experience.
