Looking For ROI? These ‘Best Value’ Colleges Score Highest For Internships & Career Placement

Princeton Review’s Best Value Universities ranking highlights the top universities (and their business schools) for internships and career prospects.

When it comes to choosing a college, few questions loom larger than what kind of job the degree can help you land. That’s why return-on-investment (ROI) is a powerful metric for prospective business majors. And while there are many ways to calculate ROI (including tuition costs, scholarships, and long-term earnings) career outcomes like internships and job placement often matter most.

Each year, The Princeton Review publishes its list of the Best Value Colleges, measuring ROI by combining academic quality, affordability, and career prospects. In the career category, two metrics stand out: how accessible internships are to students, and how well schools support long-term career placement.

INTERNSHIPS AT BEST VALUE COLLEGES

Not only do career-focused internships provide essential real-world experience and resume props, they often lead to full-time job offers for strong candidates. Knowing the schools where you’re more likely to land one is valuable information for students looking for strong ROI.

Princeton Review – a college admissions services company not associated with Princeton University – collects internship data from its student surveys, asking them to rate the accessibility of internship placement at their schools. It also breaks its best value lists into public and private institutions to account for the difference in price (as well as the difference in career outcomes.)

From its full list of 209 Best Value Colleges for 2025, Princeton Review calls out 20 public and 20 private schools with the highest internship satisfaction from their students. While Princeton evaluates internships across the full university, several of them also happen to have excellent business schools.

In fact, the top four of the public universities on its internship list were among the 104 undergraduate business programs ranked by Poets&Quants in 2025.

University of Michigan, for example, was rated the best for internship accessibility in the Princeton ranking. Its Ross School of Business, meanwhile, reported that 95.2% of 2024 graduates completed at least one business-specific internship during their program.

Students at Georgia Institute of Technology rated internship accessibility the second highest, and 91% of business majors at Scheller College of Business had a business-focused internship.
