Inside the 2026 Sasin Bangkok Business Challenge
When the brightest student innovators gather in Bangkok armed with bold ideas, something exciting is guaranteed to unfold.
The Bangkok Business Challenge 2026 Powered by SCGC is a space for big ideas to meet big ambition. Sasin School of Management is the host as well as the driving force behind the entire experience.
“With over 24 years of continuous history, the Bangkok Business Challenge is the longest-running business plan competition for university students in Asia,” says an article on Chula University’s site – a school based in Thailand.
INSPIRATION, TRANSFORMATION, AND CONNECTION
Sasin has always had a reputation for developing entrepreneurs, and this year’s theme –“Growing Impactful Ventures: Building Solutions for Tomorrow’s World” – fits right in.
The competition pulled in 385 teams from 20 countries, which says a lot about its reach. What really makes the challenge work, though, is how grounded it feels. Sasin’s ‘Inspire. Connect. Transform.’ motto shows up in the workshops, the conversations, even the way judges give feedback.
With SCGC co‑hosting and backing the USD 42,900 prize pool, students get real support in turning ideas into something tangible. This year’s talent pool seems especially interested in areas like energy, green innovation, and the circular economy.
GOING HEAD-TO-HEAD AGAIN THIS MONTH
The semifinalist lineup really shows how wide the innovation spectrum can stretch. There’s Imagine Devices from the University of Texas at Austin, which is pushing the edge of tech. Mycora Biotech from Malaysia is working on biotech breakthroughs. At the same time, WriteRight from Hong Kong is rethinking how we communicate.
Each team brings its own culture, its own instincts, and its own way of solving problems. The competition will soon kick off over three days: May 21 for the 60‑second pitch and coaching, May 22 for the semifinals and play‑offs, and May 23 for the sustainability and final rounds.
Behind the scenes, partners like Kasikorn Bank, Boon Rawd Brewery, 2C2P, and the Mae Fah Luang Foundation help turn the event into something very meaningful.
They’ve created a space where students can test assumptions, get honest feedback, and talk to people who’ve actually built things in the real world.
