As is typical in most rankings, the further down the list you go the more likely you’ll find year-over-year, up-and-down movements greater. In this second group (see table below), for example, the business school at the University of Miami registered the biggest gains: a 13-place rise to 53rd from 66th just a year ago. Four schools–UC-Irvine, Florida State, the University of Oregon, and the University of Tennessee all gained six places. Virginia Tech moved up five spots to rank 38th.
The University of Pittsburgh, meantime, fell seven places to rank 38th from 31st. And again because there are so many schools tied for the same rank, a dozen schools on this list each slipped three positions from last year.
