  • Hult International Business School – Community manager of the Corporate Relations department. London, UK.
  • Prointell – Legal representative and Marketing director. Bogota, Colombia.
  • SAP – Marketing and Communications Intern. London, UK.

Where will you be working after graduation? SAP as a marketing officer at the Digital Solutions department.

Who is your favorite professor? Georgio Georgiades was one of my first professors at Hult, he teaches an introductory course called Navigating the Business Environment – in my opinion, one of the defining courses that every business student should take because it offers the perfect glance into the business world. Georgio ignites passion and curiosity into his students. He goes far beyond giving business essentials to the class but makes us face the reality that the business world implies. He is without a doubt one of the professors that have helped and shaped me the most since I arrived at Hult and he keeps doing this even outside of class.

What did you enjoy most about your business school? Aside from the enriched international atmosphere that my school provides, the thing that I love the most about Hult is that its teaching method goes far beyond the theoretical approach. It allows its students to be immersed in a business environment where the practical experience is the first priority and it can be acquired in multiple scenarios. These include clubs and societies, conferences with special guest speakers, and real-life cases with international companies where the students have them as clients.

What is the biggest lesson you gained from studying business? You can find a different world, perception, and opportunity in every single person you know; that’s why networking is such an important part of our lives. You should never close yourself to the opportunity of getting to know someone or listening to what a person has to say because it might change your career, business, or life forever.

What advice would you give to a student looking to major in a business-related field? Try to open your mind as much as possible so you can start to see an opportunity in every scenario of your life. Humans have so much potential left to explore and if we stay aware and start seeing things with a growth mindset, we’ll achieve magnificent things.

Which academic, extracurricular or personal achievement are you most proud of? My job as Community Manager for the corporate relations department was the most enriching experiences, I’ve had at HULT.

The career development and corporate relations department is one of the entities at Hult that I admire the most. Not only do they show guidance and direction to students figuring out their career paths, but they also create interactions with well-known companies and guest speakers from which the student body can learn and with whom the students can network. For this and many other reasons, I approached the Corporate relations manager, Bianca Pavel, to ask her if there was any way I could be involved with the department being a student and if there was an opening for me to work with them. She told me that we could figure something out and by summer I started working with them. This opportunity helped me to hone my design, event planning, and social media strategy skills, among many others. I learned to use a variety of tools for content creation, data analytics, and design whilst coordinating networking events with top global organizations such as KPMG, Bloomberg, Amazon, Deloitte, etc.

Which classmate do you most admire?  María Fernanda Meza Torres.

Since the moment I met Fernanda, I could see that she not only is a very professional individual – who manages to balance different responsibilities at the same time, but also a charismatic person with amazing values and great capabilities. Fernanda is a top student who participates in multiple extracurricular activities while having an active social life. She is capable of thriving in any environment while helping her peers to thrive with her to achieve success. She is a supportive, intelligent and responsible person whose value is unmeasurable, and her heart is of gold.

Who would you most want to thank for your success? If I had to choose only one person to thank for my success, I would undeniably thank my sister, Liliana Romero Segura. Since the beginning, my sister always supported me and saw something that even I couldn’t see all the time. She’s an incredible, sensitive and outstanding human being who has never been afraid of pursuing her dreams and has always encouraged me to do it too. Her passion, enthusiasm, and assertiveness have always inspired me to be more and give more. Liliana taught me to fight for what I believe is right whilst creating a significant impact on the ones that surround me. I have nothing but gratitude towards my sister and I love her immensely.

What are the top two items on your professional bucket list?

  • Create my own social start-up
  • Work in public relations to create awareness and fundraise for social causes

What are your hobbies?

  • Reading and writing
  • Watching movies
  • Doing extreme activities (Skydiving, climbing, canyoning, among others)
  • Traveling
  • Volunteering

What made Roberto such an invaluable addition to the Class of 2020?

“I have known Roberto for two years now, as I have been his lecturer at Hult International Business School in the subject Navigating the Business Environment. Roberto was a dedicated and disciplined student during the years at Hult, always handing in work on-time and to a very high standard. He showed great attention to detail in all aspects of his studies which showed in the work delivered and often voiced his opinion by being an active contributor to in-class discussions. Roberto seemed to enjoy group-work and frequently took on a leadership role within the teams he was part of. Academically he is a well-rounded student and a motivated individual who understands what it takes to deliver high-quality work. Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English. He is the right person to represent the school with pride. In addition to his academic performance, I have always found Roberto to be a pleasant individual who is well-liked and admired by others in his peer group.”
