Villanova Welcomes New Associate Dean Larry Fillian

After welcoming Dean Wen Mao last year, Villanova University’s School of Business announced their new Associate Dean last month, Larry L. Fillian, Jr.

Fillian Jr. brings a impressive track record of success, with his extensive experience leading at top universities around the nation. Fillian most recently led a sizable team of 60 as the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management and Student Success at the New York University School of Professional Studies.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve in this role at the Villanova School of Business,” said Fillian.

Fillian is now part of the leadership team at one of the nation’s top business schools, which secured the No. 12 spot in our P&Q 2024 Best Undergraduate Business Schools rankings. He’ll play a key role in maintaining this top ranking as Villanova continues its upward momentum, having climbed two spots from last year’s rankings.

“I am excited to build upon the programs and student services available at VSB and I look forward to working closely with the impressive Villanova faculty, staff, students and alumni to further our collective success.”

Mao has now spent over a year leading the Villanova School of Business into its era of new changes – with new programs focused on hot topics like AI.

Fillian has entered at a crucial moment in time. Alongside Mao and their collective team, this October, he will oversee VSB’s ambitious efforts to double its number of endowed faculty while pledging $20 million for new need-based scholarships.

“I have no doubt Larry’s extensive higher education experience and passion for student wellbeing and success will further the mission of our school, our undergraduate programs, and the Clay and O’Donnell Centers,” said Wen Mao, PhD, The Helen and William O’Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business.
