La Salle University Names Cary Caro as Business School Dean

La Salle University’s School of Business is gearing up for a new era of leadership. The Philadelphia school just announced that Cary A. Caro, Ph.D., will be their next dean, with his tenure beginning on August 4, 2025.

Caro brings a ton of expertise in business education, having spent 14 years at Xavier University of Louisiana. This includes fives years as chair of the Division of Business, where he boosted enrollment by 28%, launched fresh academic programs, and built key industry partnerships like collaborations with Deloitte. Over the years, his leadership has shaped strategic planning, faculty development, and student success at Xavier’s Division of Business.

“It is a privilege to welcome Dr. Cary Caro as La Salle’s dean of its School of Business,” said Provost Cameron A. Wesson, Ph.D. “Dr. Caro’s career reflects a deep commitment to student success, transformative academic innovation, and leadership in higher education.”

A VISION FOR LA SALLE’S FUTURE

Caro has a history of excelling in entrepreneurship. He oversees Xavier’s Incubator for the Entrepreneurship Center, helping students develop their business ideas. He’s also led Louisiana’s Small Business Development Center office, connecting entrepreneurs with resources to build sustainable ventures. His passion for bridging business education with real-world application has been recognized with multiple teaching award nominations.

Since joining Xavier in 2011, Caro has risen through the ranks, teaching courses across business disciplines. His doctoral research at LSU examined how law enforcement training impacts officer performance, showcasing his expertise in education and workforce development.

At La Salle, Caro intends to expand academic programs, secure financial resources, and strengthen relationships with alumni and industry partners across the Delaware Valley.
