Marketing
The Phoenix rises – well, to #11 at least. The University of Phoenix, long known for spending nine figures on marketing its program, actually has a higher-ranked undergraduate marketing program than Notre Dame or the University of Virginia. Talk about teaching what you practice! Speaking of punchlines, Harvard and Stanford somehow earned top ten rankings despite not maintaining undergraduate business programs. Considering that marketing is often the last refuge of liberal arts majors, these schools can probably thank courses like “Poetry Without Borders” and “Perspectives on American Identity” for their ranking.
The University of Michigan and the University of Pennsylvania, which are actually tied for first on U.S. News’ undergraduate marketing ranking, have a clear winner on Linkedin: Penn. However, the University of Indiana, which ranked #4 on U.S. News for undergraduate marketing, doesn’t appear on Linkedin’s list.
