New Hampshire and New York Draw Highest Number of Business Majors
So which metropolitan areas draw the largest number of foreign business majors? In terms of percentage of student population, that would be the Manchester-Nashua, NH, which includes the University of New Hampshire and Southern New Hampshire University. Here, over 70% of the area’s overseas students major in business. That’s closely followed by the Las Vegas metro area at 65.2%, owing to the area’s hospitality programs.
As expected, New York City hosts the largest number of foreign business majors with 25,039 students. However, this total only represents 24.6% of students carrying F-1 visas. Rounding out the top five cities for foreign-born business majors are Los Angeles (20,627 / 30.2%), Boston (17,130 / 32%), San Francisco (12,669 / 33.7%), and Chicago (10,863 / 30.9%).
