Report Card: How Alumni Grade Undergrad Biz Programs

Would you recommend the business program to a close friend or colleague?

This is the ultimate net promoter question. There is a reason we put it first, as we believe it might be the single most important question on if an alum enjoyed their experience. In the days of Yelp! and Google reviews, we take the recommendations and opinions of strangers for things ranging from where to find the best Pho to dental and health care to concert venues. It only makes sense that the opinions of a close friend or colleague would be weighted heavily when beginning the search for an undergraduate business school.

Good news is, this was also the highest scored category of the 16 prompts. This year, Boston College’s Carroll School notched the highest score among alumni with a 9.91 average, higher than last year’s top score of 9.87 from Indiana University Kelley School of Business alums. The average across all 88 schools — and nearly 6,000 respondents — was 9.33, again higher than last year’s average of 9.31. The lowest score of 8.0 was just slightly lower than last year’s lowest score of 8.04.
